William Knuttel produces hand crafted, small production Cabernet Sauvignon from both Napa and Sonoma. Using traditional wine- making techniques that emphasize balance and elegance, William is able to transform these carefully grown and harvested grapes into an expression of the land and region.
Arguably, Pinot Noir is one of the most complicated wines to produce. Trying to strike the balance between color extraction, body, and bouquet with just enough oak to enhance the wine without overpowering it has been the bane of winemakers for aeons. This challenge is also why it is William Knuttels favorite varietal to work with.
Malbec has grown in popularity recently with great wines coming from South America, but it has been a staple of France and California for hundreds of years. William Knuttel sources his Malbec from the Alexander Valley, famous for Malbecs traditional partner, Cabernet. The Alexander Valley produces a rich balance of fruit, herbal, and earthy flavors.
